Did you know that people who sign up for vote-by-mail are 40% more likely to vote?

You can sign up for vote-by-mail at your county's Supervisor of Elections, either online or by phone. Your request will be good through the next even-year general election in November, or you can make a request for a single upcoming election.

To make sure you don't miss important local elections, sign up soon after every general election!

  • A mailing address for the ballot (if different from your residence)

  • Last four digits of your SSN -or- Drivers license number -or- state ID number

When signing up online there are several pages to fill out. Here's the process:

  1. They will ask you for the information listed above in order to look up your voter record.

  2. After finding your record, they will ask you to provide some additional information: an email address, phone number (optional), and whether you're military.*

  3. Next, you'll need to select whether you want to sign up for all elections through this cycle or for an individual election only.

  4. On the next screen, you can provide a mailing address for the ballot. Be sure to provide a good address if you will be away from home. The post office cannot forward your ballot.

  5. Next, they will ask you to review your information and electronically sign the request.

  6. Finally, you'll receive a confirmation of your request.

*There is additional voting assistance available for deployed military members and citizens living oversees. Find out more here.
